Managers Either Have No Sense, or No Authority
Managers Either Have No Sense, or No Authority: As a Max Perks customer, I got a 10%-off coupon in the mail, which I used to buy ink cartridges. They were the wrong size. When I took them in for exchange the next day, they charged me full price. I asked why the coupon wasn't applied to the exchange. The manager said I had already used the coupon the day before, and couldn't re-apply the same coupon. He offered me another coupon, to be used on my next visit, but no discount today. Can anyone explain that logic to me -- a Max Perks customer, inundated with direct mail, email, etc., is blown off when in the store? I took the exchanged ink, paid full price, and will never go to Office Max again. O-M execs would be wise to save a few marketing dollars by taking me off the Max Perks mailing list, then applying those dollars toward a little management/empowerment training.
